Panorama View from the entrance to Lanfach
Llanybri is a small village about 9 miles south
of the market town of Carmarthen in West Wales. Mostly Welsh speaking it has a
strong tradition and is steeped in history.
There has been a settlement
here for thousands of years as you will see from these pages but our lovely
village is still a thriving community where new faces are greeted with a smile
and warm welcome.

hanes a thraddodiad. Mae pobl wedi bod yn byw yma ers miloedd o flynyddoedd, er
hyn mae ein pentref hardd yn parhau yn gymuned agos lle mae ymwelwyr yn derbyn
croeso cynnes.

Let me show you the Village.
Croeso i'r pentref.
These are the ruins of the historic Hen Gapel in the middle of our village.
Llanybri sits proudly on top of a hill with glorious views for miles around. On
sunny evenings we have sunsets to the west which would be hard to beat
anywhere.
Dyma adfeilion yr Hen Gapel sydd yng
nghanol ein pentref. Mae'r pentref wedi ei leoli ar ben bryn felly mae yna
olygfeydd ardderchog ar bob ochr. Ar nosweithiau heulog mae'n brofiad arbennig
i weld yr haul yn machlud yn Llanybri.
Have a look at that view now. Here we look
west past the graveyard of Capel Newydd, the Welsh Chapel at the entrance to
the village.
In the year 2000 we had a lot of events going on for the
Millennium celebrations and you will find more about that on the other pages. I
don't want to bore you with too much to read so please have a look about and
come back soon. Why don't you bookmark this site now so you will be able to
find us again easily

heibio mynwent Capel Newydd sydd wrth y fynedfa i'r pentref. Yn ystod y
flwyddyn 2000 fe gynhaliwyd llawer o weithgareddau ar gyfer dathliadau'r
Mileniwm - fe allwch ddarllen mwy am y rheini ar y tudalennau eraill. 'Dwi ddim
am eich diflasu gyda gormod i ddarllen felly cymerwch eich amser i edrych o
gwmpas a dewch 'nôl 'to. Beth am osod llyfrnod ar y dudalen yma fel eich
bod yn gallu galw eto yn ddidrafferth.
One last thing, we need your help. If you
have ever lived in Llanybri or if you have relatives who were brought up here
then please let us know if you have
any documents or knowledge which could assist us with a history of the village
which we are preparing. If you would like a copy of this when it has been
published then please let us know
and we will put your name on the list. The booklet is now
available but details are still needed for a more detailed book to be
prepared.
