The National Wool museum at Dre-Fach Felindre is housed in the old Cambrian Mills, once the centre of a thriving Welsh woollen industry.
The museum tells the story of an industry that produced shirts and shawls, blankets and bedcovers and woollen stockings that were sold in local markets and which were exported all over the world.
At the musuem you can see working textile machinery, discover hwat it was like to work at the Cambrian Mills and explore the Textile Gallery - with a stunning wall of blankets and unusual nineteenth century knitted socks.

The museum is also home to a commercial working mill, one of the last flannel makers in Wales. On permanent display at the museum are works from Julia Griffiths Jones, who is visually combining the ongoing
manufacturing process of the working mill, Melin Teifi with the historic
textile collection. The Museum is located 4 miles east of Newcastle Emlyn, 16 miles west of Carmarthen off the A484. Follow brown tourist signs for National Woollen Museum.
